IELTS Writing Task 1

Task 1: The graph shows the number of foreign tourists visiting country X in 2019 and 2020.

Sample

The bar graph compares the proportion of international visitors to X Country in 2019 and 2020, while the table shows the annual income of different enterprises. The number of visits is given in thousands, whereas the income is given in millions of dollars.

According to the bar graph, the number of international tourists significantly decreased. American and Canadian tourists saw the greatest substantial drop, with roughly 2500 visits falling to levels less than 5 times lower. European travelers exhibit a similar pattern. In 2019, the percentage was nearly equal to that of Americans and Canadians, but it dropped by more than half in 2020. In terms of Chinese and Japanese visitors, roughly 3000 persons visited X Country initially, but the number dropped by one-third a year later. In terms of Australian tourists, the number decreased yet remained more than 2000 at the end.

Moving to the table, the income of various enterprises diminished in 2019. The annual profit of a hotel and resort was 3.5 million dollars in the beginning. In 2020, the number fell to half a million, being the largest drop in the table. Similarly, in 2019, the annual turnover of restaurants, bars, and souvenir stores was 2.4 million dollars. A year later, the figure had dropped by half. The income of transportation and travel agents fell by more than half, to less than half a million dollars. Unlike the previous three businesses, tour guides, small merchants, and other services saw the smallest loss in annual income and still earned more than a million dollars toward the end of the survey.

IELTS Writing Task 2

Task 2: Some people claim that immigrants should adopt the local culture when immigrating to a new country. While others think that they can establish a minority community instead. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Sample

Many people believe that immigrants who migrate to a new culture should be accommodated. Others, however, disagree with the idea of immigrants implementing their culture as a minority community in a new country. Although building a new community can create cultural diversity, it can also result in a loss of the public’s demographic structure, in my opinion. The purpose of this essay is to examine both the pros and drawbacks of the debate.

On the one hand, it is essential to note that developing a minority community can have a negative impact on societies; as a result, immigrants should be assimilated into society rather than building a little culture in new countries. After the 1970s, for example, numerous Vietnamese individuals have migrated to the United States as refugees. Instead of adhering to society’s fabric, they have established their own culture and built their own neighborhood in the new country. As a result, some of them still do not speak proper English and are unable to obtain work outside of their immediate area. Understandably, immigrants should be trained to respect the code of behavior.

Minor communities, on the other hand, can enhance cultural diversity, allowing people to live in these countries harmoniously regardless of gender, ethnicity, or nationality. It is clear that when a country has a multinational societal structure, people are more accepting of varied colors and tastes. Many immigrants live in developed countries, for example, and as a result, those states have enacted rules to protect each individual’s fundamental rights and lack of nationalism. More freedom for minority populations may be granted to countries in this way, without a doubt.

To conclude, while there may be ascending tendencies in embracing others’ rights in multilateral communities, immigrants should acquire domestic culture in order to become a part of the country, and the demographic societal structure should be protected.
